Sarah's had a pretty good day so far. She is pleased to be shedding tubes and tubing today. Spent 3 or 4 hours up in a chair. She has become very interested in her oxygen saturation and asks about the level frequently. Her next personal goal is to breathe deeply and be rid of the nasal oxygen device which sits like a little bowel of air under her nose (and drives her nuts!). Her heart surgeon is cautiously pleased with her progress so far. The next hurdle in his domain will be getting rid of her heart pacemaker put in during the operation. Unfortunately, there is a chance she will need it permanently. It takes a lot of electrical power to drive such a big heart!
Looking forward to Reed's arrival late tonight.
